Guia 4 Rodas –Estradas 2010 latest survey of roads in Brazil shows that of the five best roads in the Northeast, two are in Paraiba. They are the BR230 (also known as the Trans-Amazonian Highway) between Joao Pessoa and Campina Grande and the BR101 between Joao Pessoa and Natal. None of the ten worst roads were in the Northeast, though eight were in Sao Paulo.
The survey was undertaken by 16 reporters and editors who travelled over 250,000kms to produce the findings.
