Mr Jugg asks about discounts.

by Toby Jugg on Sat May 24, 2008 3:29 pm

I was reading about a discount card for tourists which was launched in May 2008. Is this just a temporary thing?

Hello Mr Jugg; The card which is going to launched on 19-5-2008 and will be distributed from hotels and pousadas associated with the JPA Convention.
Discounts will be available on taxis,restaurants,hotels, vehicle hire and bars etc. At the moment over 60 companies are providing discounts associated with the card.

Not to be confused with the Gold Membership card that will be offered here shortly, that will give 20% of health insurance, car hire, shops, restaurants and many other things, we will have a thread about it and anyone who has signed up for the Newsletter will be amongst the first to hear

I was reading your members page, is it true that if I join the Paraiba Paradise Association I can get 20% of UNIMED?

If it is correct I want to sign up as it would save me over R$1500 a year on my insurance so I pay just 10% of what I can save.

What other discounts are you offering with the membership? Do I need a card, how do I claim my discount?

Yes it is true that you will save 20% off your health insurance with Unimed if you sign up to become a member of the Paraiba Paradise association, Unimed give good discounts to large groups (over 100 members), you also keep any benefits you have already acquired with your policy.

As for other discounts; we are currently talking with a number of companies that deal with building and contents insurance, car insurance, car hire, hotels, many shops and shopping centers, TV and Internet companies and many others.

We will be telling people via our newsletter and members e-mails as these come on line.

We decided to start with the Unimed discount as in most cases people will save their membership fee with-in 1 or 2 months of becoming a member; so it is easy to see the value of joining.

A query from Mr Jugg;

I am already a member of Unimed along with my family. Will I still get a discount?

Yes and you will keep any accrued benefits as well, so you do not have a new qualifying period you keep the years you have, all that happens really is you contact Unimed and tell then you are now a member of the Paraiba Paradise Association and wish to claim your discount, they will send you a form; you fill it in and you save yourself 20% off the biggest monthly bill most people have.

Because we are still taking to a number of companies the discounts available will continue to grow and we will keep people informed via the newsletter.
