Wedding at the Civil Registry

This is the one where the wedding ceremony is celebrated within the premises of the Registry, open to the public, with open doors during the entire act of the ceremony, and in the presence of the Justice of Peace, the Circuit Court Clerk, the bride and groom, and two witnesses (bride’s maid and best man, or sponsors).

After hearing that both bride and groom confirm that their proposal to get married is of their own free will, the Justice of Peace will declare the marriage officially celebrated. Immediately thereafter, upon all signatures having been placed onto the marriage document, the newlyweds will receive from the hands of the Justice of Peace their Marriage Certificate.
