The Castro Pinto Airport, located in Bayeux, Greater João Pessoa could soon become a mini hub for the airline Azul, discussions are currently on going.
Azul currently has its main hub at Congonhas airport in Campinas, but according to the president of PBTur there is a possibility of a mini hub in the Northeast, which will offers transfer flights with faster connections. If the deal is completed it will be a major boost for tourism, not only in the city but also the State.
The national secretary of Airports Nelson Negreiros has confirmed, there is a project to build a new terminal at Castro Pinto airport, apparently, “the project is still in the engineering department, but is nearing completion”.
