General Rules
This visa is issued, under exceptional circumstances, to foreign citizens travelling to Brazil to provide emergency technical assistance in cases where an unexpected situation has arisen, which puts human lives or the environment at immediate risk or which interrupts production. - First entry into Brazil must be within 90 days from the date the visa is issued (It is the responsibility of the applicant to make sure the application is lodged accordingly)
- Within 30 days of arrival in Brazil, bearers of this type of visa must register with the Brazilian Immigration authorities (DPMAF) and submit the second copy of the visa application form, which will have been stamped and returned to them by the Consulate General
- Length of stay is no more than 30 days
- Visa cannot be extended during bearer’s stay in Brazil, and cannot be issued more than once every 3 months
Required Documents
- Applicant’s passport, valid for no less than 6 months (Soiled, damaged or defaced passports will not be accepted)
- Two visa application forms, duly filled and signed by the applicant
- Two passport-size photographs
- Certificate of vaccination, where necessary
- A letter in which the employer gives a detailed description of the emergency situation prompting the application for this type of visa, states which technical skills are required to attend to it, declares the applicant to master those skills, and takes full financial responsibility for him/her whilst in Brazil
- A letter in Portuguese, in which the Brazilian company describes in detail the emergency situation, as well as provides the name(s) of the technician(s) indicated by the English company
- Receipt of payment of the consular fee
