Intermares

How to get there:

Intermares is 12 km from the centre of João Pessoa and accessed via the BR230, heading towards the port of Cabedelo.

Also known as “mar dos macacos” or “sea of monkeys” this is the definitive surfer’s beach where the sport can be seen in practice on most days

The beach is protected because of the turtle breeding ground. Many stretches of the beach are deserted save for grassy areas and palm trees. The waves are very strong in some area and all swimmers should take care.
