Well, by all accounts our 5th get together at Giramundo restaurant on the 31st August was a great success with 142 people in attendance. The meeting was even more enjoyable because of the very good service and food.
Its worth remembering that Giramundo opened just for us and it was good to see the place so full. I’d like to take this opportunity to thank Raymond, his wife Lu and staff for making it a great afternoon out, especially as we really had no idea how many people were going to turn up.

So if you would like us to arrange a party for Sunday, December the 14th let us know. We estimate the ticket prices to be around R$25 per adult or R$50 for a family ticket that would include 2 adults & up to 4 children under 16 years old. The price could go down depending on the number of people who request tickets.
On the 8th of September we were invited to present our website www.paraibaparadise.com to Alzario Junior the Secretary of Tourism of João Pessoa. He liked the site so much that he made an appointment for us with Jorge Rezende, Chefe de Gabinete (Assistant to the Mayor). After the meeting we were invited to present our site to a conference of all the people involved in tourism in João Pessoa at the new Science and technology centre.
In August the site past the half-a-million hits mark, which isn’t bad for a site only a few months old. So thanks to everyone involved in helping to make the site what it is today.
The “what’s on where” page is one of most visited pages and seems to be the most complete guide to what is going on in João Pessoa on the internet.

The discount will represent a huge saving for all members. In the case of one family policy it will be about R$1700 a year and one monthly discount will be enough to cover the annual subscription to the association. Eventually we would like people to invite others to join the association in order to gain the benefits we have worked for.
Other news is that we are not just working on discounts with UNIMED. At the moment, we are looking at other companies too, such as car hire and insurance companies and OI services.
Our goal is obtain discounts from all the companies a settler would normally be involved with like furniture stores and builders merchants for example.
