As well as flying direct to Recife, you could also consider flying to Natal or Campina Grande. You would have to drive from both Recife and Campina Grande though they are the same distance away at 120km and some would say the BR230 from Campina Grande is safer than the BR101 from Recife. Natal is further north on BR101 at 180km. Another alternative would be Fortaleza to Recife or Fortaleza to Natal.Further, Campina Grande has the advantage of more daytime flights, a smaller airport meaning it’s easier to get through it.
