The BR230 on the way to Cabedelo and from Bessa.

Also known as “mar dos macacos” or “sea of monkeys” this is the definitive surfer’s beach where the sport of surfing can be seen in practice on most days.

The southern part of the beach towards Bessa is protected because of the turtle breeding ground. Many stretches of the beach are deserted save for grassy areas and palm trees. The waves are very strong in this area and all swimmers should take care.
