There is a Police Station that specialises in dealing with crimes against women, the elderly and Homosexuals/Transexuals.

It can be found at Ave. Dom Pedro 1, no 414, Centro, Tel: (83) 3218-5341 or 3218-5342.

Unfortunately, at this time we have little information about how systems there differ from other police stations, but thought it was worth a mention.
