The first thing that strikes you is the very rustic appearance. The whole place is surrounded by bushes and trees; that’s right, no wall of any sort. You pass through some tall metal gates and into the courtyard of a grand suburban home typical of the area. The restaurant is to the right along a path which meanders through the trees and bushes. To the left and right of the path are two quite large round timber structures for large parties.
A little further along and you come to the main part of the restaurant with its strong wooden tables and chairs set below an impressively huge timber, straw and bamboo canopy lending even more to the country atmosphere. The smell of freshness pervades the area, you do indeed feel like you are in the country. It is very clean with an absence of staff; there could be more and perhaps there are as the day wears on. The general ambiance is very warm though the music choice at the time was very poor.
Once settled a Portuguese-Brasilian menu awaits you. The specialty dishes are cod and shrimp. Our meal for two served four as the portions were quite generous. It was very tasty too, very “home cooked”. The cost was tolerable. As expected there was a decent wine list with an inflated ego offering very run of the mill wines.
The toilets were average, small but clean. General opinion was that more light would be a benefit. Plenty of “on street” parking and no people to look after your car on the street.
It is a WI-FI zone too for all the technical buffins.
